With Google Sites, you can quickly gather a variety of information in one place – including videos, calendars, presentations, attachments, and text – and easily share it for viewing or editing with a small group, an entire organisation, or the world.
You must adhere to the Leeds Beckett University Google Sites staff policy (below) when creating and sharing sites.
2. Google Sites staff policy
Important: Staff are required at all times to adhere to the University, School or Service policies and procedures.
Staff are reminded to observe the Disciplinary Rules, especially with regards to representing our University and data protection.
a. The default setting for Google Sites is internal to staff only.
b. Internal sites for staff access only can be set up and managed by the site owner but must adhere to University or School / Service policies and procedures at all times.
c. Sharing sites internally with students should be authorised by the Dean of School (via student email).
d. Sharing sites with students can be done by circulating site access information via student email addresses or via the MyBeckett Announcement tool.
e. Requests for sites to be developed for external access should be made in advance through our University Marketing team at: email@example.com
f. Sites for public access are required to be developed using the appropriate Leeds Beckett University branding guide and in liaison with the University Marketing Team.
g. Sites should NOT be made public until the content has been signed off by a Dean of School or Director of Services (or their nominated representatives).
h. All site domains will be displayed as: https://sites.google.com/a/leedsbeckett.ac.uk/yourname (“yourname” needs to be your preferred site name). Please ensure that this is respectful and appropriate for the purpose of the site.
i. As the site owner, you're responsible for the management and functionality of the site. This is provided as an 'as is' service and as such no technical support is available internally. Any support should be requested through Google support.
j. As the overall domain owner Leeds Beckett University is able to monitor, access and where necessary remove your site, or any content within it, at any time.
