Request a crosslisted Module / Course Group

1. Introduction

Crosslisting allows Modules or Course Groups to be merged to create a new Module / Group. If you’re not sure what Course Groups are, please see our guide.

When should you do it?
When you’re teaching multiple deliveries of exactly the same content across different cohorts. All students in all of the modules / groups you’re crosslisting will be able to see all of the content. This means you only have to update / refresh one set of content, rather than multiple.

Important!
We only crosslist if there's no content in the modules you want to crosslist. If content exists in those modules, please contact us for further advice (details are at the bottom of the page).

If your sole purpose for considering crosslisting is to communicate to a large number of users, it's better to use the Module and Course Group Communicator.

5. What happens next?

When your new crosslisted module or group is ready to use, you will receive an email notification from the Learning Systems team. This will contain information about how to access the module or group.

How do I add content to crosslisted modules or groups?

After crosslisting, your requested modules or groups are connected in a parent-child relationship. This means that you add content to the newly created parent module, in order for it to feed into the child modules that your students are enrolled on.

What will my students see?

Your students will see the name and CRN of the child module they are enrolled on, but the content of the parent module.

How do I email students on crosslisted modules or groups?

  • To email all students on your crosslisted modules or groups, use the email tools in your new parent module.
  • To email students enrolled on separate modules, use the email tools on the relevant child module. Please note, your students will not be able to see the child module or any content that you add to it.
