1. Introduction

This guide is for staff looking to set up WebDAV as a means of uploading content to MyBeckett.

WebDAV allows you to add a content collection folder as a network location on your computer. This means you can quickly create, move, rename, edit or remove files.

The screenshot below is from Windows 10. It is also possible to set up WebDAV on a Mac.

2. Set up WebDAV for a module (Windows 10)

a. In MyBeckett, open the module that you want to set up for WebDav.

b. In the Module Management menu, click to expand the Content Collection folder.

c. Click the CRN and year of your module.

d. Click Set Up Web Folder.

e. Copy the URL displayed in the Current Web address field.

f. Go back to your desktop, then click This PC (there is usually a shortcut icon).

g. Click Computer.

h. Click Add a network location, then click Next.

i. Click Choose a custom network location, then click Next.

j. Paste the URL that you copied from your MyBeckett module, then click Next.

k. When prompted, enter your MyBeckett username and password, click OK.

l. Type a meaningful name for your folder e.g. the name and year of the module (this is how it will appear in the file explorer on your PC). Click Next.

m. Click Finish. The new folder will appear in file explorer, it will be listed under This PC.

3. Set up WebDAV for a folder in the Institutional Content Collection (Windows 10)

a. Click the Files tab.

b. Click Content Collection.

c. Use the menu on the left to navigate to the folder that you need to connect to.

d. Click Set Up Web Folder.

e. Copy the URL displayed in the Current Web address field.

f. Go back to your desktop, then click This PC (there is usually a shortcut icon).

j. Paste the URL that you copied from your MyBeckett module, then click Next.

k. When prompted, enter your MyBeckett username and password, click OK.

m. Click Finish. The new folder will appear in file explorer, it will be listed under This PC.
