Independent Learning

Independent Learning

Introduction

We can support students on this journey to independent learning by providing a scaffolding that reduces the  direct guidance and explicit instruction as they move through the course. Courses can provide the opportunity for students to undertake independent study in small chunks  before they undertake a final project or dissertation. Allowing students to form their own groups and distribute the work within the group will help them develop independent skills that can be applied in their wider lives.
