Working with you
The Library Academic Support Team can contribute to your course planning. Your Academic Librarian can:
- Take part in the course planning/development process
- Take part in course revalidation
- Advise on appropriate resources
- Help you to develop reading lists
- Advise on specialised services and resources for distance learning courses
- Help you to integrate academic skills into your course modules
Your School annual report
Libraries and Learning Innovation annual reports present information on the information resources, teaching and support available to each School, summarising School-specific Library activities over the past year and also outlining future priorities.
LLI Collection Development Strategy
Libraries and Learning Innovation produces an annual Collection Development Strategy outlining how funding for resources is allocated and how LLI facilitates access to resources purchased to support the curriculum.
Resources for your course
Search the Library Catalogue for details of books held in the Library and eBooks that can be read online.
Discover is our academic search engine which searches a wide variety of academic databases, journals and other resources. If you are looking for a specific resource you can also search our A-Z list of databases or our A-Z list of journals.
Subject guides highlight subject-specific resources for students.
If resources are not available online, the Library's Digitisation Service can (subject to licensing) make chapters or articles available so you can link to them from MyBeckett. For more information, please see our guide Scanning print materials for use in MyBeckett.
Creating reading lists for your students
The University has an online reading list system. It enables students to access an online list of recommended resources for their module which are accessible directly from MyBeckett, making it simpler for students.
All modules are required to have a reading list.
Lists can be managed from the relevant module page of MyBeckett. There is support available for editing your online reading lists or please contact your Academic Librarian team.
Diversifying Reading Lists Toolkit
The following guides have been created to support you in diversifying your reading list content.
